Application: Polysorbate 80 is a kind of nonionic surfactant and can play a part in emulsification, diffusion, solubilization and stabilization, etc. It is extensively used as emulsifier, dispersant, solubilizer and stabilizer in pharmaceutical preparation. As a kind of excellent O/W emulsifier, high concentration electrolyte and pH change will little affect its emulsifying capacity, and the stability of resulting emulsion will get better when it is used together with dehydrated polysorbate. The emulsions and creams of W/O or O/W with different quality and viscosity can be obtained when polysorbate 80 was combined with other type or dosage emulsifiers. Since polysorbate 80 is with good function of emulsification, diffusion and solubilization to different oils such as mineral, vegetable and animal oils. It is mainly used in preparation of liquid products such as aromatic water-based, mixture-based and emulsion-based products, half-solid products such as ointments, emulsions and suppositories, sterile or sterilized products such as eye drops, eye ointments and injections.
